Child Testing
1st grade - 12th grade
        Fee $2331

You want to know "why" your child has
learning problems and "what" can be done
about it. Additionally, you want to be able
to explain the problem clearly to your
child's educators so that they can
understand how to deal with your child's
unique learning style.

Relax, because we give you everything you need to understand and communicate the reason for the problem and the
solution to administrators at your child's school.

First, we obtain developmental history (when your child began to walk, talk etc.) information from you, to be included in the
report, which may help explain some observations at home and in the classroom.

Second, we obtain direct observations from your child's teacher(s) in the form of structured perceptions designed to identify
if your child is completing homework, turning it in on time, as well as dozens of other important classroom behaviors that are
relevant to learning in the classroom. Additionally, we provide the Clinical Assessment of Behavior Test to teachers and
parents to identify the source of any behavioral, emotional or learning problems occurring in the classroom and at home.

Third, we administer interactive tests: face-to-face with your child, to obtain measures of their cognitive ability (which
impacts their ability to learn) and performance levels (which indicates what they have learned.) The tests are mostly short, 3
- 10 minute tests over the period of 2 hours on two different days. Each test measures something uniquely different about
your child. Clear patterns emerge which explain your child's learning strengths and weaknesses.

The Psychologist administering the test also observes the
quality and quantity of your child's responses, as well as
their non-verbal responses (paying attention, deep
breaths, rocking in their seat etc.) and considers the
interplay of non-verbal responses with their written and
    verbal responses.

Fourth, all of the test scores (over 80 separate
measurements) are analyzed for patterns. Individual,
interactive, intra-cognitive, intra-individual as well as the
traditional comparison of potential versus performance
measures are considered along with the teachers'
observations and the parents reports to produce a unique
profile of your child that explains why your child is learning
the way he or she does and what sort of things can be
    done about it.

Finally, the Psychologist meets with parents to give them a copy of the 20+ page report and discuss the results. The results
are presented in multiple formats to make sure they are clearly understood. Individual scores, standard scores, grade
equivalents and age equivalents are all provided.

Additionally, every report includes an easy to understand visual graph of the scores, so that "eye balling" the graph would
show clear patterns to the lay person. Each test is clearly explained and its impact on learning is explained in detail.

Recommendations are very important and several pages are written
specifically for accommodations and remediation by a professional or
by a parent. Resources for help are written in the report and on-staff
educational therapists are available to come to the home to work on
weaknesses identified in the report.

After we have met and discussed the report, we e-mail you a "pdf" version
of the report that retains all of the formatting, so that you can keep a copy
on your computer to reference in the future or e-mail to other school
administrators. The summary and recommendation section are digitally
recorded and sent by e-mail so that you can listen to it again and again
over the years using free itunes software for the pc, mac or ipod or send
it to the teacher to listen and understand better about how to teach your
child better for their unique learning style in the classroom.
